Independent Living Centre WA Equipment for Living Grants 2010-2011:

As part of the 2010/11 budget, the State Government recently announced an additional $780,000 of funding available for individuals to receive Equipment for Living Grants which will be administered through the Independent Living Centre of WA (ILC).  The Grants will provide for vital equipment not currently available through the Community Aids and Equipment (CAEP) scheme or other support programs.

The maximum individual grant is $5,000.

Closing date for all applications is September 9, 2011.

ILC Disability Equipment Grants

The Disability Equipment Grants program (DEG) assist West Australian individuals with permanent disabilities.  Grants are available for specific items of equipment for people who would not otherwise be able to afford this equipment.

The Independent Living Centre of WA administers the DEG Program and all enquiries and applications should be directed to them.

Where another government agency has a policy and funding responsibility for equipment, applications for Disability Equipment Grants will not be accepted.

Paraplegic-Quadriplegic Association WA – Acute Spinal Cord Injury Grant

Financial assistance up to $1,500 for persons diagnosed with paraplegia and up to $2,000 for persons diagnosed with quadriplegic may be made available to eligible persons, generally on discharge from acute care, to facilitate the purchase of essential equipment or other needs not otherwise provided through existing health, disability or rehabilitation agencies.

Applications are generally facilitated through the Social Work Department at Royal Perth (Rehabilitation) Hospital (Shenton Park).
